This 8-week course is for learners who have completed HSK 1 or just started HSK 2. We will mainly cover language points in upper HSK 2.

We will not only learn more everyday life topics, such as travel and transportation, sports and health; but also touch upon ways to express more abstract ideas, such as providing opinions, seeking help, common social communications. You will express yourself and get to know others better.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Carry out the following functions in everyday life:
    • seeking for help  
    • sending gifts
    • borrowing and returning things
    • briefly describing health conditions
    • describing simple outfits
    • renting appartments
    • briefly talking about food and travel plans
    • asking for opinions and making simple suggestions
  • Learn language points and sentence structures, such as
    • emphasizing specific details of past events
    • taking about events that have happened 
    • change of state
    • comparing and describing difference
    • describring results with complements
  • Write ~30 Chinese characters, and 15 common radicals.

If you'd like to join, but none of the time slots work for you, please let me know your availability. We might open new sessions if there are enough interests.

Who is the course for?

This course is for learners who's roughly at HSK level 1-2. As we will cover mainly the vocabulary and language points in HSK 2, so you should have completed most of HSK 1. 

If you are not sure about your level, book a free language assessment with me. 

Languages in Class

At this level, you will be able to hold simple conversations and understand most classroom instructions. The classes will be delivered in Mandarin 90% of the time, with some pop-up grammar rules explained in English.

Refund Policy

Meet the instructor

Jun Wu

Hi friends, I'm Jun. I've been teaching Chinese language and culture for over a decade, and hold a B.A. in Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language, and a M.Ed in Curriculum Design and Teaching Methodology.

As a life-long language learner myself, I know what it’s like to feel stuck and lost when learning a second language. Now after having lived and taught in three different countries to students of all levels and ages, from elementary school to university courses, I'm fascinated not only by the differences among cultures, but how much we share in common. 

Together, we will make this learning process fun while making meaningful connections along the way!
